Tips and Techniques meetings are about photography in general and will be applicable to digital and film cameras for novices and the less expert. You are encouraged to bring your camera and some pictures for discussion. Experienced photographers are encouraged to attend and share their knowledge. Examples of topics covered are: picture-taking workshops, print mounting, rules of composition, exploring camera settings and their effects.

This is an experience sharing session based on the ProShow Gold software. AV presentations are shown by members and problems in creating them discussed. Complete AV novices are welcome and will get help and suggestions on how to get going or trying new things.

This is an instructor-led group covering topics within Photoshop, Photoshop elements and other imaging software. A programme will be published at the beginning of the club season. Each session will deal with a specific topic and be divided into a taught portion, followed by hands-on practice. Although not mandatory, it will be helpful if participants bring a computer and some images to work on.

A variety of meetings will be held for this group covering portraiture, family groups, child photography, figure and nude, still life, making a record of artefacts for insurance. Meetings often need to be limited to a small number of participants so that each person can create the pictures they want – especially when a model is being photographed. The venue for this group varies depending on what is required. This is a picture making session.

It is intended to be a participation group for those wishing to explore images, both their own and those of famous/well known photographers but also extending to other forms of art. A programme will be developed that could include looking at the work of a published photographer, screening and debating a TV program, exhibition visit, field trip, a workshop on a particular style e.g. abstract or graphical.
